IRCd just dies.. what next

aghhh i need some help! I've just linked a new server into a network and every 5 mins it just dies. Its a gentoo box and a patch had to be applied to get it working! It was working ok but now i can't get it stable!

"It just dies" doesnt tell us anything usefull which we can use to even begin to guess what is going wrong.
