no ident on host
« on: October 16, 2002, 09:02:42 am »
hi all can someone help out with identd on host , this is what I`m getting
No ident response; username prefixed with ~
It seems that you don't have identd installed on your host.
If you wish to have your username show up without the ~ (tilde),
then install identd.
How my I install identd if that`s what it needs .

Since your not telling me what client or OS you use im going to assume Windows and mIRC.

mIRC have a built in ident server (identd) which probably means you have a firewall blocking incoming packets on port 113.

If you need more info on ident i recomend taking a look at the DALnet exploits page on identd.
