« on: September 16, 2005, 02:09:09 am »
Has anyone tried to get this running with the latest ultimate 3.0.1 I have tried and all it ends up doing is sending introducing client on none server
Another question is what does Ultimate expect from a server linking in order to sync

As far as I know the protocol hasn't changed since 3.0.0.a30, and IRC Defender is surposed to support the a30 of UltimateIRCd. I would guess that it's a problem with your configuration of the link.

I tried Defender a few months ago and couldn't get it to work.  Their support staff said that they don't support Ultimate 3.  So, I deleted it and went back to NeoStats, which runs fine even if they do have ego-maniacs (fish) running it.

This post explains how to get those errors to stop, but then it still doesn't work: http://www.ircdefender.org/forums/index.php?showtopic=85

I'm unsure about the state of IRC Defender at present.

If they specifically say they support Ultimate3, there is likely a configuration issue on the IRC Defender end.

The error messages listed in the op. indicate that the protocol of Ultimate3 is not supported.
