Could you provide some additional details about the OS enviroment? Most notably if you are running on 64bit or not?

Exactly the same problem here!!

Running Debian ->
/usr/bin/file: ELF 32-bit LSB executable, Intel 80386, version 1 (SYSV), dynamically linked (uses shared libs), for GNU/Linux 2.6.8, stripped

And UltimateIRCd 3.0.1
Problem only exists on one of the leaf's. All other see the modes change, just not this leaf. And it also can't set the +s +m modes.

I forgot to mention that a reboot or restart of UltimateIRCd doesn't help. I also tried a recompile to see if I missed any errors during compilation. If needed you (shadow) can ssh to the leaf.

In the middle of finals atm so i don't have too much time to investigate this at present.

Some things that could be helpful to know is if it happens regardless of network status (ie linked or unlinked)
Does it obey ULine mode changes or mode changes from other servers?
Is netsplit protection enabled? Ie upon creating a new channel do you receive operator status?

Hi,

It does see +s changes and -s if services (ulined server) is doing it. But NOT if a normal hub or leaf is doing it.
Modes +k +l both work. They have parameters. While +s +i doesn't. Makes sense??
I've tried 2 different debians.

Both run OpenSSL 0.9.8g and gcc (Debian 4.3.2-1.1) 4.3.2

When I join a new channel I do get @. But even that channel won't do +s.
I /squit the server, and tried +s. Still no luck.

Hi again,

More info....
I have 2 debian's where this only is a problem on one of them.
This one works:
Code: [Select]
Linux xxxxx 2.6.24-etchnhalf.1-686-bigmem #1 SMP Mon Oct 13 08:07:31 UTC 2008 i686

gcc (GCC) 4.1.2 20061115 (prerelease) (Debian 4.1.1-21)

OpenSSL 0.9.8c 05 Sep 2006

This one doesn't work:
Code: [Select]
Linux xxxxx 2.6.26-2-686 #1 SMP Thu Mar 26 01:08:11 UTC 2009 i686

gcc (Debian 4.3.2-1.1) 4.3.2

OpenSSL 0.9.8g 19 Oct 2007

Now if I take the ircd binary from the working server and place it on the non-working server. Then +s +m works perfectly, but all SSL ports are dead.

I hope this helps!!!

Finals over with at last.

Is there any chance i could get access to a shell on the system where this problem manifests itself?
