OPing mysyself during split
« on: October 03, 2005, 12:36:46 pm »
Good evening all.

I am a member of a network in Aussie and run a node to the best of my experience, But myself (Global Admin) and some of the other (tech admins) have a little problem that I am trying to overcome.  When the network splits say due to a crash or a comms failure from one of the nodes or services drops out, we can not SOP ourselves.  We get access denied.

Even if I local Operator on my server I can not SOP myself to ! level or chat in MOD channels when I am a Global admin.

We get access denied.  We tried to use this command.

/cs op #channel tatman

/cs admin #channel tatman
Channel=name

Is there something i am missing, maybe a flag on my O line??

Thanks
Tatman

If you are split, services will naturally not be there to give you any access at all. Hence /cs (chanserv) commands will not work.

You can as an operator however force mode changes by using the /fmode command.

Its strange though as if services are down, you shouldnt be getting access denied errors (services have their own access control btw) but instead you should be getting a services down or unavailible error.
