« on: March 21, 2008, 08:43:27 pm »
I have carefully read FAQ and FORUM but my problem is not mentioned and discussed.

1. UltimateIRCD 3.0 Win32 does not support more than 50 connections
2. I cannot /connect two of my servers running on my LAN.

While connecting two Servers on LAN I recieve

[Server Notice] *** Connecting to superlink.khi.hyperchat.com.
[Server Notice] *** Disconnected from superlink.khi.hyperchat.com (no error)
[Server Notice] *** Their Ts 529989954587 Our Ts 9578327984 delta = 37564

I am not aware of any limitations regarding connections, although i never did any Windows 32 builds myself so i cannot be absolutely certain.
However providing us with the error you receive would be a good start.

The second error indicates that the clocks on the two different servers are too far apart, in this case over 10 hours.
Correct both servers clocks, preferably using a timeserver and try again.

I am running a LAN consissting of 250 users, majority of my users demand IRC facility within the LAN. We think Vypress is not a good utility for CHAT. I have tried bIRCd, fwsIRCd, dalnet4413 Win32 and UltimateIRCd 3.0 Win32. fwsIRCd has no nickserv, memoserv, operserv supported within its builtin Services. bIRCd does not support after 100+ users chatting and file-sharing. dalnet4413 has no services. UltimateIRCd is DALnet alike and works fine with Anope services. I have configured and successfully launched UltimateIRCd, but after 50 connections it does not allow another connection to Server which means problem. I decided to run UltimateIRCd on 5 computers running WindowsXP SP2 to allow all the 250 users to connect. Problem occured when we were linking first two servers. Following has the C/N Lines from both ircd.conf
1. Conf for Server1
Code: [Select]
C:192.168.0.1:pass:cyberlink.khi.hyperchat.com:7325:51
N:192.168.0.1:pass:cyberlink.khi.hyperchat.com::51

2. Conf for Server2
Code: [Select]
C:192.168.0.6:pass:superlink.khi.hyperchat.com:7325:51
N:192.168.0.6:pass:superlink.khi.hyperchat.com::51

Every server can be hub has been declared in conf files, after reash our servers tried to autoconnect. But, failed to connect.
We tried manually ("/ircdhelp opercmds" helped us alot) /connect 192.168.0.6 and recieved this;

[Server Notice] *** Routing -- from cyberlink.khi.hyperchat.com: Local CONNECT 192.168.0.6 from Abcent[[email protected]]
[Server Notice] *** Connecting to superlink.khi.hyperchat.com.
[Server Notice] *** Disconnected from superlink.khi.hyperchat.com (no error)
[Server Notice] *** Their Ts 529989954587 Our Ts 9578327984 delta = 37564

There is no specific error I could quote.
One thing for sure, UltimateIRCd v3.0 does not allow more than 50 connections per server. Either these connections are from Localhost or LAN. I deadly await a fix to current stable version.
UltimateIRCd is superb and over the top, which is why it is our final choice.

My problem can be solved if my 250 users easily connect to Server(192.168.0.1) and enjoy their chat OR 5 of my Servers link to each other and share their users.
Please help.

As i explained above, this is caused by the two computers clocks being inaccurate and over 10 hours off compared to eachother. Adjust the clocks to be correct, preferably using a tool to syncronize them with an atomic clock.

As we currently have no Win32 maintainer to produce win32 builds which means i have no real way of getting new builds done, i cannot easily investigate the 50 users limit issue you are experiencing. However your workaround with multiple servers will work fine as long as you correct the clocks on the computers.

Check your I and Y lines to make sure you aren't limiting it there.
