dynamic ip in P:line
« on: June 05, 2005, 04:09:41 pm »
Hi!

I'm running UltimateIRCd on a router. This router has got a new IP every 24 hours, and gets an URL per dyndns-service. That far that good. Now the problem is: how can I bind my IRC to that dynip?

I use:

P:127.0.0.1:127.0.0.1::6666 #services
P:192.168.*:192.168.1.1::6666 #network
P:192.168.*:192.168.1.1::6667 #network
P:192.168.*:192.168.1.1::6668 #network
P:192.168.*:192.168.1.1::6670 #network

and now would need to add something like

P:*://ppp2//::6666 #internet

but how do I tell the ircd to use a DEVICE instead of an IP?

thanks as far

Why not make it bind to all available IPs? Just put * there.

You might also want to read up on the P line syntax for 3.0/3.1 as you are restricting access to those ports to people on your own subnet.

so in clonclusion what you say is that I should use

P::*::6666

?

If so, then this is not what I want:

I wish to bind this server to:
- localhost
- subnets [eth3]
- ppp2 [eth2]

I don't want to bind to:
- ppp0 [eth0]
- ppp1 [eth1]
- master subnet [eth4]

as far: thanks though...
