Hi there,

i like Ultimate very much, that's why i'm using it, and i have some ideas for it:

-> SSL Support, for clients(!) .. and for servers?
Nobody needs SSL Support for clients, if the Servers are talking without SSL - My english is very bad so i can't describe what i mean, i try it in german:
So, implement SSL for Servers (I would use it.)

-> MAP
Well i know thats not the meaning of map, but probably it's better (and it's a better overview) if hub's are sorted to top, not the Server at top on which someone is connected.
Examples:
Normally:
 server4.bla.tld
 |- server3.bla.tld
 etc
 ` irc.bla.tld

My idea:
hub1.bla.tld
| serverX.bla.tld *
etc
` serverX.bla.tld
hub2.bla.tld
etc

the * means "Connected on this Server"

That's my idea's probably you don't like them ;-)

greets
It's ... strange :>

We already have encryption support for server<->server encryption, even though it's not done through SSL. I can't remember the name of the encryption method we use for that at the moment.
Code: [Select]
# Link Flags:
# E == Encrypted links (Requires encryption to be enabled during ./configure)
# Z == Compressed links
#
# C:remote server's hostname:password:remote server's name:port:conn class
# N:remote server's hostname:password:remote server's name:link flags:conn class

Is this an connection encryption? I thought it's only for the crypted passwords to link.

If my memory serves me correctly, it is 'connection encryption'. The passwords are merely encrypted for .conf file security, however the connection encryption does what it says - encrypts your server <-> server connections provided you specify it in the C/N lines for your servers. I may be wrong on this but I'm reasonably confident that I'm right here :)

You are correct.

Provided OpenSSL was enabled, the flag will enable RC4 streaming encryption for server <-> server communictaion (must be enabled on both sides of the link of course)

As for the /MAP suggestion

I cant see the use of that. The MAP is created using the server you are connected to as the base (same for Neostats MAP for example, except it uses itself as the base)
